It was built for the West Bromwich School Board as the Beeches Road Schools.

It was later renamed to King George V Primary School at a later date, is now one of the schools run by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

Parking outside the school is not encouraged during the morning and afternoon school runs. As well as smoking.

One of the buildings main features is it's distinctive clock tower.
